A is for artichoke. Who likes artichokes? I've only had them in salads and pizzas, stuffed and steamed with aioli sauce. I think they are difficult to prepare.

When we went to visit Mendocino (Northern California coast) last year, it was abalone season. Poaching is a big problem I believe because the authorities even set up check points to make sure that poaching is stopped.

Last year while on vacation, we had breakfasted here (Fort Bragg, CA). The restaurant is decorated in Wizard of Oz knick knacks. The food is good too.
