In 2010 we visited Chichen Itza in Mexico, just before the projected end of the world in 2012.
Behind the glorious pyramid, excavation process continues. I wonder how much have they unearthed since then. Must be time for a return visit, don't you think?

Such an impressive structure. I've often wondered how long it took to build it and how many people worked on it. I suppose I could look it up now that it's easy to search for info. :-)
I was in Southeast Mexico on a missionary trip, but never got to visit the marvelous Mayan pyramids. However, I did get to visit the pyramids of Teotihuacan when I was in my early 20's. Happy Belated ABC Wednesday!

Wow! Great photos. I saw a lot of excavation work done in Wales last summer where an ancient Roman town had been built there.
