ABC WEDNESDAY: E

In 2010 we visited Chichen Itza in Mexico, just before the projected end of the world in 2012.

El Castillo

Behind the glorious pyramid, excavation process continues. I wonder how much have they unearthed since then. Must be time for a return visit, don't you think?

Excavations started in 2009

  4. Wow! Great photos. I saw a lot of excavation work done in Wales last summer where an ancient Roman town had been built there.

  8. Such an impressive structure. I've often wondered how long it took to build it and how many people worked on it. I suppose I could look it up now that it's easy to search for info. :-)

  9. I was in Southeast Mexico on a missionary trip, but never got to visit the marvelous Mayan pyramids. However, I did get to visit the pyramids of Teotihuacan when I was in my early 20's. Happy Belated ABC Wednesday!
